Dear IRF Oceania,
The IRF President Deanne Adams has just sent the attached letter of support to the National Parks division in Japan.
As a pre-emptive move towards responding to a request for concrete support, I am putting a call out for expressions of interest in volunteering to help with recovery within the protected areas of Japan. Please spread the word amongst our members and colleagues.
Interested individuals, please respond with the following information (dot points are sufficient):
- Availability – short or long stays, immediate or further down the track
- Relevant skills and experience – for overall recovery response and/or protected area specific recovery
- Language? Valid passport?
- Opportunity for or likelihood of release from current employer (and anything which might assist you to obtain approval, eg letter of support or invitation etc)
- Capacity for financial independence or sponsorship required
- Anything else which describes your availability and constraints for volunteering in Japan
Also, if someone is unable to assist by travelling to Japan but would like to assist by coordinating the gathering of this information and/or potential facilitation of an active response from Oceania, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Regards,
Tegan Burton
