The registration for the EUROPARC annual conference this year opened on May 2nd. The conference is entitled ‘Quality Counts – Benefits for Nature and People’ and it will take place from 21st – 25th September in the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve in Southern Germany.
The preparations for this year’s conference are currently into the last phase and our conference organisers are becoming increasingly busy arranging the registration and putting the finishing touches to the programm. As well as the registration form you can now see the detailed programme on the conference website www.europarc.org including excursion and workshop discriptions.
A plethora of great key note speakers and presenters have already confirmed their attendance. Prof Klaus Töpfer, Prof Beate Jessel, Prof Miranda Schreurs, representatives from the EU, Prof Fritz Brickwedde, Olaf Tschimpke, Eberhard Brandes and other national and international representatives. In addition, experienced moderator Klaus Liedtke (former chief editor of the National Geographic) will be moderating the event.
As well as these great key note speakers the conference offers participants the opportunity to take part in workshops covering an array of themes around the topic of the conference ‘Quality Counts’, excursions that will show you the best parts of the biosphere reserve, evening events, the EUROPARC General Assembly including the council elections, and exhibitions. Whilst enjoying these possibilities you will also have time to make new contacts or even refresh old ones with colleagues working in the field of protected area management from all over Europe.
We also hope that you will join us for the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of EUROPARC Germany on the third evening. Here we present you with a buffet, which will boast products from across Germany, supplied by the German National Natural Landscapes.
We hope to see you all soon in Bad Urrach. Please visit the conference website for more information and to register for the event. Questions regarding the organisation of the conference should be directed to info@europarc2011.com.
