Registration There are still places available, so please register by going to the following link for more details:  http://www.pamsfoundation.org/world-rangers-congress/registration

Airport Pickups If you have not done so already, please send your flight details to logisticswrc@gmail.com so we can arrange your airport transfer. Free airport transfers will be available on 3, 4 and 10 November 2012, from Kilimanjaro International Airport (and Arusha Airport) to the venue and return. Should your flight be on another date, an airport transfer can be arranged  at $60 per vehicle transfer (up to 4 people can share the vehicle transfer).

Visa and entry requirements: Visas are required by most visitors to Tanzania. For most countries a single entry tourist visa is US$50, for US and Irish citizens it is US$100, and can be obtained upon entry. These can be obtained at:

  • Dar es Salaam International Airport
  • Zanzibar International Airport
  • Kilimanjaro International Airport
  • Namanga Entry Point (Tanzania-Kenya border point)

However, in order to minimise delays, if there is a Tanzania Diplomatic Mission or Consular Office in your country, we recommend you obtain your entry visa prior to departure to Tanzania. Please consult your local Tanzanian Embassy or High Commission for up to date information. Application details and forms can also be found on http://tz.embassyinformation.com/

Yellow Fever A valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is compulsory and must be produced at the airport upon arrival.

Exchanging money & US Dollars Money can be exchanged to Tanzanian shillings at the airport or at Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge. Note: Due to forgery, Tanzania does not accept US Dollars that are older than 2005. Please ensure your notes are from 2006 onwards (i.e. 2006, 2007, 2008 onwards are acceptable)

Nairobi Airport Shuttle Please contact logisticswrc@gmail.com should you wish to make use of the shuttle bus from Nairobi to Congress Venue, and Congress Venue back to Nairobi.

Cultural Night In keeping with tradition, a cultural night will be held during the congress in which rangers provide entertainment.  Tuesday 6 November will be cultural night at the 7th World Ranger Congress. We encourage you to participate, no matter how short or long your performance may be. Please contact tanzaniawrc@gmail.com, if you have a performance to offer.

Uniform
Please bring with your uniform and casual clothes as it is traditional to wear uniform at the official opening (which will be on Monday morning) and on the Friday during the World Congress Members Meeting. Many rangers often wear uniform for the welcoming ceremony too, which will be on Sunday evening.

Raffle
The IRF will be running a raffle on various mornings during the congress. If you have any items (new or used) which can be used as prizes for the raffle, please bring it with.

Spare equipment for Rangers in need
If you have new or second hand equipment that is not being used, and you would like to donate it to other rangers, please bring it along. We can then discuss who you would like to donate it to at the congress.

Flags
The congress organisers are in search of national flags to display at the congress. If you have access to a flag and would be able to bring it to the congress, please contact the organisers on tanzaniawrc@gmail.com

Badges and memorabilia
Don’t forget to bring with any badges, patches, stickers or memorabilia you may have from your park or park service, to hand out or trade with other rangers.

Looking forward to seeing you in November
