300 European environmental experts meet in the Schwabian Alb Biosphere Reserve, Germany
From 21st – 24th September 2011 experts from national, nature parks and other natural protected areas meet in Bad Urach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany for EUROPARC 2011, the largest networking meeting in Europe for those working with and for Europe’s most beautiful places. In workshops, speeches and on excursions over 300 international participants will discuss urgent environmental themes and share their experiences regarding the protection of Europe ’s natural landscapes.
One of the largest conferences in the field of nature protection is taking place in Germany this year: the EUROPARC Conference 2011. Conference hosts are the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg and the EUROPARC Federation, the umbrella organisation for European protected areas.
The focus of the four days is the them ‘Quality Counts – Benefits for Nature and People’. During speeches, on excursions and at workshops participants will concern themselves with questions concerning the correct approach to the conservation of Europe ’s natural and cultural landscapes. The aim of the conference is to develop solutions and to deliver innovative, forward looking approaches that guarantee the effective management of protected areas.

The conference is taking place with support from the Federal Agency for Nature Protection, Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union of Germany, WWF, the Allianz Environmental Foundation and the Commerzbank.
